Season-ending thriller at Gisborne Speedway

Full noise drama on the track . . . . There were two spills in the fast TQ races at the big double-header end-of-season speedway meeting at the weekend, this one involving Gisborne’s Daniel Taylor (8G) as he was shunted into the wall coming out of the pit corner. A supreme performance by superstock legend Peter Rees was a highlight of an awesome finish to the season at Gisborne Speedway at the weekend.

It was topped off by a sensational fireworks show that could be seen and heard from many parts of the city.

Rees, on board 10G, powered his way to wins in the MTF Finance Gisborne Superstock Points Dash Round 3, and to the overall title in the series.
