Eight community groups get funding boost totalling $268k

EIGHT Tairawhiti community groups have been given funding boosts from the New Zealand Community Trust.

The trust's latest funding round includes a total of $268,715 of distributions to groups here.

Breakthrough Education Trust received $23,000 and Campion College $30,347.50 for the purchase of vans, Eastland Sports Foundation Education Trust received $10,000 for venue hire and talent, and Gisborne Boardriders Club received $50,000 for a contractor. Gisborne Gymnastics Club received $77,000 for salaries, while Gisborne Volunteer Centre received $4385 for a vacuum cleaner, office equipment and computers.

Kingdom Kids and Education Trust received $3782 for an air conditioner and a fence height extension. Poverty Bay Kayak Club received $37,000 towards a development squad coach and school and beginners coach, while Swim For Life Tairawhiti received $33,200 to provide swimming lessons.
