New port crane ticking all the boxes

THE first of the new 465-tonne mobile log loading cranes installed at Eastland Port by port logistics company ISO has been loading for about 10 days now and is “ticking all the boxes”, says ISO Gisborne area manager Neal Ebbett.

“It's the crane that arrived from Tauranga, where it had already been in use.

“It's working really well for us, providing increased capacity and safety.”

Mr Ebbett said they expected to have the other two in operation next week.

Eastland Port handled 10 log ships last month, and these took away 228,000 tonnes of logs.
