Charity dog trial draws big line-up
The annual J and T Hickey Charity sheepdog trial begins today-week at the Riding Club for the Disabled pavilion at the Showgrounds Park and Events Centre, and the programme has drawn a big line-up of entries.
There will be more than 190 runs over the three days this year, about 20 more than in 2020.
“We have 87 competitors entered from near and far, and there will be 191 dogs involved,” a trials spokesman said.
“The line-up includes 26 novice competitors, which we are thrilled about.”
This will be the 55th annual J and T Hickey Charity trial, with proceeds from it supporting several local charitable organisations.
