Good take-up of QR contact trace posters
About 775 businesses here have downloaded QR posters needed to work alongside the national Covid-19 contact tracing app.
A Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment spokesman said 77,549 QR code posters had been generated nationally.
“For those posters where a postcode has been provided, about 1 percent were within Gisborne district, which is consistent with its share of the overall population nationally.
“NZ Covid Tracer has been designed to protect the privacy of users and only about 38 percent of registered users have chosen to provide a current address.
“Of those, approximately 9 percent were within Taranaki/Manawatu/Whanganui/Gisborne/Hawke's Bay regions.”
NZ Covid Tracer allows users to create a digital diary of places visited by scanning the official QR codes.
As of last week there were 592,700 registered app users nationwide.
