Wash’nGo, how much dough?
Now is the time for the new Gisborne Holdings Limited (GHL) chairman Dave Mullooly to inform Gisborne District Council ratepayers just how much this new vehicle wash cost to build.
A figure of around $500,000 was disclosed publicly prior to being built but the final cost has been withheld even to Gisborne District councillors I believe, on the grounds of commercial sensitivity.
Have we another council-linked project cost overrun to match the million-dollar toilet down on the wharf?
I am sure the proprietors of the other, privately-owned vehicle washes in the city area — Mobil Kaiti, Z Energy, Caltex Gladstone Road and BP Kaiti (formerly owned by Mr Mullooly) — will be interested in how much their new competitor Wash’nGo has cost.
