Taharoa ‘eco’ farm goes on the market
What has been described as a “strategically-developed 'eco' farm with high regard for the environment” has gone on the market.
The 377-hectare sheep and beef property on the Mahia Peninsula known as Taharoa has been developed with a focus on creating an environmentally-sustainable operation.
Simon Bousfield and Stephen Thomson from marketers Bayleys said the last twenty years had seen significant change in the way Taharoa's owners have farmed the property, focusing on environmental stewardship with an eye to the future.
“Taharoa is years ahead of its class in environmental sustainability, with the stock an illustration of its quality and performance. Lambs killed early over 18kgs, and weaner cattle growth rates of 1.5kg per day.
This is an opportunity to purchase not only a high-performing farm, but a pioneer of sustainability."
