Wrights expanding tree planting area

ALL are welcome to lend a hand at Wrights Vineyard and Winery in Manutuke to extend their native tree planting area that was first planted last year.

There are approximately 315 plants to plant and mulch this Saturday.

The day begins at 11am, and the Wrights team are offering pizza after the planting as a thank you to everyone who helps out.

“We are looking at extending our native area we planted last year, which surrounds a tidal estuary,” Wrights owner Geoff Wright said.

They are working in conjunction with the Women’s Native Tree Project Trust.

If you are planning to come out, either let them know on the Facebook event at tinyurl.com/s9bhymr5 or send a text to Mr Wright on 027 656 8222.

“It is normally quite fun. Kids are welcome to come along and help on the day. There might even be some tractor/trailer rides for them,” Mr Wright said.

There will be some spades and shovels available but feel free to bring your own along on the day.

The vineyard is located at 1093 Wharerata Road, Manutuke.
