Party for the climate

Help save the world, feed those in need and party at the same time this weekend at Smash Palace.

The effects of climate change are being seen all over the globe, especially in the Arctic and polar regions, and DJs are on board to raise awareness.

This Saturday’s event at Smash Palace, Ice Block, will call attention to the great glaciers and icescapes that are melting and disappearing.

“If we don’t change the way we live by 2050, then the future of our children could be gone,” an event poster states.

“It’s all rather overwhelming. Where do we start? We can start by helping those close to home.”

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit a local organisation dedicated to ending hunger in the community, Gizzy Kai Rescue.

The line-up includes a mixture of afrobeat, drum and bass, and house music.

DJs include Brazilbeat, Paws, Dizfunk, Stix & Slyone, DJose, Geeez, and Machinist.

Icescapes and ice-inspired art will fill the venue.

“July 10 will be a cold, wintry night, but we say the colder the better.”
