Real-life school student Maru Tapine reaches through a fog-screen at a demonstration of Shotz Creative’s hologram technology.
The FogScreen uses water vapour to create a semi-transparent curtain of suspended particles trapped in a thin sheet of air.
Three-dimensional objects can be projected onto the screen and viewers can even walk, or reach through the projection. The demonstration was one of several events that make up Tairawhiti Gisborne Techweek.
A free seminar aimed at helping parents keep their children safe in the digital environment will be held tonight at Te Wharau School hall at 7pm.
Safe Surfer-Parenting in the Digital Age will cover practical tips about digital parenting and keeping kids safe online.
This includes when and how to set online boundaries for children, setting filters on children’s devices and an outline of the latest teen apps and what parents need to be aware of.
