Agreed Alan. I have noticed in my own time leading the charge for the Hamilton-Auckland commuter rail proposal that this National-led Government often makes gross and misleading statements and cost accusations for rail services. I agree, it would seem they are protecting the trucking industry at the cost of the nation’s rail network. And it is very true that the truck industry provides juicy cash donations to National Party MPs, including Gisborne MP Anne Tolley.
