Only road hazard careless motorists
Re: Cyclists can be a hazard, Aug 21.

As a long-time cyclist myself, I find your statement totally wrong.

Most cyclists are people who ride for fitness or recreation purposes, or lately to save money on petrol costs. You will also find that these people will already own their homes and drive motorcars themselves. So why do you say they don’t contribute financially towards roads?

Cyclists ride side-by-side as protection for cars; it makes them more visible on the roads. The only hazard on the roads is the drivers who do not give cyclists the respect they deserve. They have the same right to be on the road as all motor vehicles. So please be courteous to them, they are people just the same as you.
