Echoes of 1930s

Opinion Piece

Of all days Chairman Xi chose June 6th to inform the world of how well he and President Putin get on. Already similarities are being drawn with the “axis powers” which began to form in 1936. Italy is missing this time but North Korea or Iran could easily fill that void.

Europe and Asia once again are flexing their considerable muscle. The world has its head in the “climate change”, “hate Trump” narrative and appears almost oblivious to this clear parallel to the ’30s. Snowflakes rule.

I wasn’t alive in the ’30s but can’t help but wonder if those that were see any connection to these current affairs. All that is needed now is a depression to start the cogs turning in a far more menacing fashion. Hmmm!
