Break for A Grade cricket

Poverty Bay cricket A Grade competition the DJ Barry Cup takes a break tomorrow.

That will allow people to travel away if they took today off work to create a four-day weekend from yesterday's Waitangi Day public holiday.

Poverty Bay Cricket Association operations manager Nic Hendrie said the competition needed a bye weekend to enable the final to be held in March, at the same time as the B Grade's Hope Cup final.

Hope Cup games will go ahead tomorrow.

The next game in the DJ Barry Cup is between Horouta and High School Old Boys on Saturday, February 15.
