Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists of a lane closure on State Highway 2 at the Opotiki end of the Waioeka Gorge from Wednesday, April 14.
Work is happening to strengthen the Omoko Bridge, which is expected to take approximately four weeks.
“During this time, one lane will be closed with 24/7 stop/go traffic management in place and a temporary speed restriction of 30kmh,” NZTA said in a statement.
“Motorists should expect delays of five to 10 minutes and are advised to plan ahead.
“The bridge will be closed to some heavy vehicles (those with a “crawl central” crossing restriction).”
