Cattle sales back on

The first cattle fair since Covid-19 restrictions started went off well yesterday with some bargains to be had in the later pens.

Prices for some were down to $180 a head. All 2237 cattle sold.

The top dollar, $1230, was paid for some rising two-year-old steers from the Uttings in the Waimata Valley. Most of the cattle were weaners.

The top money was $875 for steers from Whangara and $665 for heifers from Tikitiki.
