City centre thriving again, with shoppers out in force

The city of Gisborne was humming again yesterday as New Zealand woke up to life under Alert Level 2.

Gisborne city centre resembled Boxing Day crowds at times, with shoppers out in force.

People flocked back to places like The Warehouse, which was able to reopen under Alert Level 2.

The Warehouse carpark was full and there were long queues at times over the day.

The change of level also means playgrounds are now open.
