Water tests show three places unsafe
Latest water quality tests now show three swimming sites around Tairawhiti where the test results show it would be unsafe to go swiwmming, but all the other test sites came through all clear.
The Waiotu Stream, the Mangahauini River, both at Tokomaru Bay, and the Urukokamuka Stream at Whatatutu have been deemed unsafe for bathing.
The latest testing was carried out earlier this week.
Tests were also carried out in three locations in Anaura Bay, Makorori, Midway, Pouawa, Tokomaru Bay, both ends of Tolaga Bay, Turihaua Beach, Waikanae, Wainui, Waipiro Bay, Wherowhero Lagoon, Turanganui River at the Gladstone Road Bridge, Wharekahika River, Hangaroa River at Doneraille Park, Makarika Stream, Waimata River, Kaiti Beach, Sponge Bay, Karakatuwhero River near Hicks Bay and the Rere Rockslide.
All those locations got the all clear for swimming.
There was still no data available from test sites at the Turihaua Bridge on SH35 and the Uawa River at the SH35 bridge.
