Big bucks for Hain ewes
Top dollar was paid for 223 two-tooth Romney “mums” from the Hain Partnership of Pehiri during the 2020 Ewe Fair at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday. They sold for an impressive $322 each (nearly $72,000 in total) — an increase of $56 on the price received for a similar line at the 2019 fair.
Auctioneer Wally Moore did the selling and they went to a Taihape purchaser. Nearly 11,650 head changed hands during the sale, which was well attended.
Full report on the sale in Focus on the Land in Saturday's Gisborne Herald.
