Bridge-road realignment spells delays for six weeks
One lane will be closed to complete the last stage of the $6.5 million Motu Bridge replacement, the New Zealand Transport Agency says.
State Highway 2 near Matawai would be down to one lane from yesterday while contractors completed works to realign the approach to the new bridge.
Stop/go traffic management would be put in place, with a temporary speed restriction at the intersection of the state highway and Te Wera Road.
Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes for a six-week duration while works are completed.
The project was funded by the Government’s Accelerated Regional Roading Programme announced in January 2016.
