RSA thrilled with $19,000 raised on Poppy Day
Poppy Day in the Gisborne district raised more than $19,000 this year.
The Returned ad Services Association was thrilled with the response from the public.
“That is a wonderful achievement,” said Gisborne RSA manager David Sly. “We would like to thank the community for its support of the appeal.”
All funds raised were banked into the Gisborne RSA Welfare Trust.
“The money will be used for the support of veterans and families of veterans in need of help.
“On behalf of the Gisborne RSA we would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on Poppy Day. Without the volunteers’ support, we could not have achieved the appeal total.”
“We would also like to thank The Gisborne Herald and all the advertisers who supported the ANZAC Day supplement produced.”
