Good start to Hunger for Colour canned food campaign
Generous Gisborne people have already donated two cartons of food to the annual Hunger for Colour campaign.
This month anyone can donate canned foods to Gisborne Resene ColorShop and receive a free 60-80ml test pot in return.
Gisborne Resene office manager Karen Moult says the campaign has always been well patronised.
“People donate generously and some are happy to donate without asking for test pots,
“We’ve done this for five years and it always works well,” Mrs Moult said.
Last year 570 cans were donated by Gisborne people.
The cans of food are given to the Salvation Army and community foodbanks to give to families in need.
Resene ColorShop will accept cans of food 200ml/gm or more, in good condition and suitable for people to eat.
If you prefer to donate canned pet food, Resene will accept it and donate it to the SPCA and local community animal shelters.
There is a limit of seven free 60-80ml testpots per household.
