Women’s fishing competition raises cash for kai

Close to 160 anglers and 50 boats took part in the annual Gisborne-Tatapouri Sports Fishing Club’s Womens’ Fishing Competition.

It was held last weekend and the weather was good for fishing. Organisers said some good fish were caught.

The $1970 raised was presented to Gizzy Kai Rescue, a new not-for-profit organisation that rescues and recycles food that would normally be thrown out.
