Gap in line unacceptable
Re: Big push for rail required, November 23 letter.
The train service must be restarted for the transport of goods and passengers.
The gap in the line between Wairoa and Gisborne is unacceptable.
The insane beauty of a ride for passengers along the coast, special steam excursions and the transport of logs only benefit the economy and boosts our strength in tourism and exports.
The longer the rails are left to deteriorate, the greater the chance that losing this asset becomes our reality; not acceptable.
