Hello, just wanting to clarify the situation regarding the claim that the Makorori Longboard Classic is the oldest longboard contest in the country, as I was in the committee that put together Christchurch's North Wai Boardriders Dunga Classic in 1986 — the first of now 35 annual longboard contests — just a mere decade before the first Makorori competition.
