Credit where it’s due
In the past I have written several letters to The Herald challenging the outcome of some medical treatments I received at our hospital.
Since my accident of January 7, 2020 and ongoing visits to the Hau Ora, I would like to thank all medical and support staff for their professionalism and exceptional “duty of care” shown towards me and my whanau.
To the ambos, the ED doctors and nurses, Mr Birch, and everyone else involved in my recovery, your empathy and professionalism is much appreciated and life affirming.
In these changing times when the DHBs are under increasing pressure from Wellington, it is good to know that the basic principles of patient-centred care for our community, notwithstanding all outside governance pressures, are being attended to. Keep up the good work. Nga mihi.
