Good prices in small yarding

by Trevor Brown

Good prices were paid for the 715 sheep on sale at Matawhero yesterday.

The 25 prime lambs sold from $150 up to $210 for a pen of four from Rangiata Partnership at East Cape.

This vendor also topped the store pens, with 100 male lambs that sold for $183 and two ewe lambs that made $156.

There were just 679 store lambs yarded.

A pen of five prime ewes from PW Bennett fetched $161, while four store ewes sold for $132.

There were 35 feeder calves from Colin Kerr at Ngatapa for sale, and all were sold, from $175 for four Hereford-Friesian cross bull calves, down to $70 for two Friesian bulls.
