The weekly sheep sale year at the Matawhero saleyards kicked off on Friday morning and just under a thousand head changed hands. The Perendale male lambs in foreground (pictured left) were third cut from M.D Gibson at Matawai, and they sold for $80. The average price for store lambs firmed by $20 to reach $90 on Friday with a top price of $98, Among the prime sheep the top price paid for prime ewes was $140, and for prime lambs $148.
