Small but strong sheep sale at Matawhero

Friday's sheep sale at the Matawhero saleyards drew a smaller tally in previous weeks, but it was a strong sale nevertheless.

Store ewes accounted for the best prices among the sellout 1600 head yarding. The rain and the resulting good grass growth encouraged buyers.

The prime ewes sold up to $115, the store lambs up to $126.50 for the males and $121.50 for the ewes.
