Prices remain the same at final sheep sale

Prices were largely unchanged at the final sheep sale for 2019 held yesterday at the Matawhero saleyards, where 2120 sheep sold, of which the primary feature were the 2058 store lambs, most of which were by terminal sires.

Glentui Station at Tolaga Bay topped the store lambs with 91 cryptorchid lambs making $124.50.

There was a large consignment of 1297 hogget lambs from Totangi Farm Ltd at Ngatapa, their best line of 136 ram lambs selling for $116, a pen of 199 of their small mixed-sex lambs sold for $50.

Local buyers were bidding keenly on all lines, all of which were healthy and carrying good body condition.

A pen of 21 big prime lambs from Grants Panel Shop at Te Karaka fetched $165.
