Prices similar at weekly sale

AT the weekly Matawhero sheep sale yesterday prices paid were similar to that of the previous week for the total of 2238 sheep on offer — 49 prime lambs, 14 prime ewes, 2048 store lambs and 108 store ewes.

Grants Panel Shop at Te Karaka sold 10 huge new season prime lambs for $190.

Ahirau P/S, also at Te Karaka, sold 5 very heavy prime ewes for $199.

Best price of $130 in the store lamb section went to M.W and A.M Flood at Kanakanaia for 48 male lambs.

Arakihi Station at Tolaga Bay sent in 489 self-shedding wiltshire lambs which were sought after, due to their not needing to be shorn.
