One Billion Trees Fund info sessions next week
DISCUSSION on the Government’s One Billion Trees Fund will be held in Gisborne through two information sessions next Wednesday.
Te Uru Rakau — Forestry New Zealand is holding a short series of introductory information sessions on the recently launched fund — a $238 million Fund to incentivise new tree planting.
These information sessions are targeted at people who work with landowners and communities on land use options and tree planting, including: rural professionals, Non-Government Organisations, private consultants, industry groups, councils and others.
What funding is available for landowners and organisations for new tree planting, will be covered, as well as funding available for initiatives that better enable and support tree planting.
There will be a morning session (10am — 12pm) and an afternoon session (1.30pm — 3.30pm) on Wednesday, February 13 at the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) offices on Awapuni Road.
You can find out more about the One Billion Trees Fund at the Te Uru Rakau website http://www.teururakau.govt.nz
If you cannot make it to a session, or there isn’t a session in your region, Te Uru Rakau encourage people to get in touch with them to discuss options.
