SNEAK PREVIEW: Among 35 artists, many of whom have close ties with the Department of Conservation and its work is local DoC ranger Jamie Quirk. His ceramic work, North-west Wind, pictured here, is one of five of his artworks that feature in the soon-to-be-released book, Creative Conservation: a celebration of artists who are wild about nature. Described as the only New Zealand conservation-based creative collection of its kind, Creative Conservation showcases four or five works from each contributor. The images are accompanied by captions from the artists who explain their technical and emotional approach to the subject. Creative Conservation: a celebration of artists who are wild about nature is due for release on April 19.
