Tokorau

Modern materials that range from moulded resin to digital prints feature among contemporary works in Toihoukura, Maori visual arts school's exhibition, Tokorau, at Tairawhiti Museum.

Made up of works by students and staff, the exhibition includes Nathaniel Nathan's striking painting on unstretched canvas of a vivid, black, pou-like streak of a column topped with an obscured head and almost scribbled abstraction of a carved face.
