For the first time in many years, more than 100 works, including this piece by Norman Maclean, have been submitted for the Gisborne Artists’ Society (GAS) annual exhibition which opens on Saturday at the Tairawhiti Museum gallery. Significant among this year’s submission is a much bigger range of large scale works than in previous years, say organisers. As in last year’s show, photography is also included while visitors can expect to see ceramics range from quirky, light-hearted pieces to substantial platters, bowls and sculptural forms. Full story next week. Gisborne Artists, Potters and Photographers annual exhibition opens at Tairawhiti Museum on Saturday and runs until November 10.
