Bach and Beethoven online

Performances of works by classical music giants Bach and Beethoven presented by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra are streaming online this week.

In the third of the NZSO’s, six part, Sei Solo series, violist Nicholas Hancox performs two movements from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suite No. 5 in C minor.

On Sunday, May 17 at 4pm, the NZSO’s Ryman Healthcare Presents Discovering Beethoven series continues with performances in celebration of the composer’s 250th birthday this year.

Works are to be announced. All performances are by NZSO players at home and curated by NZSO Concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen.

All performances can be viewed at https://live.nzso.co.nz/ and Music Room videos at nzso.co.nz/nzso-engage/music-room/ via smart TV, mobile phone, tablet or computer.

SEI SOLO: New Zealand Symphony Orchestra violist Nicholas Hancox performs two movements from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suite No. 5 as part of Sei Solo’s six-part series in which NZSO string players perform their favourite movements from one of Bach’s solo partitas, sonatas or suites, and share their thoughts on what the baroque composer’s music means to them.
