It’s heart, it’s soul, it’s central . . . it’s the hub
THE inner harbour has a new identity intended to make it the heart and soul of many community events.

First to benefit from the Inner Harbour Hub Central concept will be Feast Gisborne, with a family fun day from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday October 20, the day before the Feast festival.

Musicians will play at venues around the inner harbour and Club Gisborne members can collect wristbands for Feast at Gisborne Tatapouri Sports Fishing Club’s Shark Bar.

On the Sunday, others with Feast tickets will be able to get their festival bands from Gisborne Wine Centre.

The Inner Harbour Hub Central initiative has been driven by the R and V team, which is managing Feast Gisborne, and is fully supported by port operator Eastland Group. Double U Design’s Craig Willson designed the new brand.

Feast Gisborne festival director Alex Turnbull said the inner harbour was already a natural hub for Gisborne, with its cafes, bars and restaurants. It would continually evolve to meet community needs.

Transport to the festival will head out from Hub Central to Waiohika Estate, and festival-goers will be returned to the hub for more fun afterwards.

“This is a great new asset for the community,” says Mr Turnbull.
