Chasing the sheep for a charitable cause
WHISTLES and calls have been resounding in the Riding for Disabled Association’s (RDA) indoor arena for the 46th annual J. and T. Hickey Trust Charity Sheep Dog Trials, being held this week.

Competition got under way at lunchtime on Thursday with over 180 entries in the open section and 22 in the novice event, which is for new competitors.

The open trials conclude today with their finals, before the novice section gets under way.

The open finals will be determined by running off three qualifiers from Thursday’s competition, six from yesterday and three more from today.

A novelty event will also be held tomorrow.

Organisers have said they had been lucky to have the indoor arena as there was a good downpour over the events centre on Thursday.

This year’s proceeds will go towards the RDA, CCS and IDEA services.
