Clearance success
A VERY successful capital stock clearing sale was held on farm at Makiri Station, Waimata, recently.

The sale conducted by John Harris of Gisborne East Coast Farmers Ltd, a locally owned and operated company, attracted outside buying competition from Levin, Taupo, Taumarunui and Waihi, as well as strong local buying support, and a number of lines went out of the district.

This led to very favourable returns being achieved for the vendor.

A brief summary of results: MA cows $890, 2yr heifers $780, weaner steers $600, weaner heifers $532, MA ewes $162, 2th ewes $144.

A number of lambs were offered as well, with $93 achieved for the best ewe lambs.

Delivery of the stock after the sale went smoothly with the cattle scanned out of the farm and NAIT being notified within the 48 hours as required.
