Market Place
Get bigger bucks out of your beef
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
SOME of the country’s top beef cattle specialists will be in Gisborne to speak at next week’s Gisborne-Wairoa Beef Profit Partnership public field day.
The event will be held at the Colosseum Bar and Bistro, Matawhero, on Wednesday, July 25, from 1pm.
Keynote speakers will be Bob Thompson, who is working with Landcorp and will deliver a talk on beef cow reproduction.
Steve Morris of Massey University will speak about how to get the best out of heifers.
Silver Fern Farms will run a presentation on breaking down a beef carcase.
While their butcher breaks a carcase down, they will provide a running commentary on the cuts of beef and their place in the market.
